Feature
Put your link in bio on your own domain
A link on your own domain is yours whichever platform sits behind it. It is also easier to remember, looks more credible in a bio, and keeps whatever search ranking your page earns attached to your name instead of to someone else's.
Setting it up
- Open the editor and go to Settings, then Custom Domain (a Pro feature).
- Enter your domain, for example myname.com.
- At your DNS provider, add a CNAME record pointing to cname.vercel-dns.com. For a root domain, some providers call this an ALIAS or ANAME record instead.
- Wait for verification. It usually takes a few minutes, but DNS can take up to 48 hours to propagate.
What you get
- Your profile served at your own address, with a TLS certificate provisioned automatically.
- Search engines are told your domain is the canonical address of the page, so ranking consolidates there rather than splitting with xbio.gg/username.
- The same editor, analytics and themes as any other profile.
Questions
- Do I need Pro for a custom domain?
- Yes. Custom domains are part of Pro ($5/month or $45/year).
- Which DNS record do I add?
- A CNAME pointing to cname.vercel-dns.com. If your provider does not allow a CNAME on the root domain, use its ALIAS or ANAME equivalent.
- How long does it take to go live?
- Usually a few minutes after your DNS record is in place. Propagation can take up to 48 hours depending on your DNS provider.
