How to collect email subscribers from your link in bio
Published
Followers are borrowed from the platform they follow you on. An email list is yours: no algorithm decides who sees your message. A link in bio page is one of the best places to build one, because the visitor has just chosen to look at you.
Make a specific promise
"Subscribe" asks for something and offers nothing. "One email on Fridays with the new tracks and the stems" gives a reason. Say what they get and how often, in one line next to the form.
Use double opt-in
With double opt-in a new subscriber receives a confirmation email and is added only after clicking it. You get fewer sign-ups than with instant opt-in, but they are real addresses from people who meant it, which protects delivery for the emails that matter.
Set it up on XBio
- Turn on the email capture widget in the editor.
- Write a short heading and a one-line promise.
- Subscribers confirm by email; confirmed ones appear in the Email tab.
- Send a blast to the list (Pro), or build a drip sequence that sends a welcome series automatically.
Consider gating links behind the subscribe
XBio can hold your links back until a visitor subscribes. It works when the links are the value, such as a download or a members-only page. It costs you casual clicks, so use it on a profile whose main goal is the list, not on one that mainly sends traffic to your shop.
Respect the list
- Every XBio blast carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribed addresses are never emailed again.
- Send when you said you would. Consistency matters more than volume.
- Export the list from the editor whenever you want a copy.
Questions
- What is double opt-in?
- The subscriber confirms their address by clicking a link in a confirmation email before they are added. It filters out typos and fake addresses.
- Can I export my subscribers?
- Yes. You can export your subscriber list, along with the rest of your data, from the editor.
